The picturesque medieval town of Bergerac in Dordogne, south west France makes you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. Bergerac also features boutique shops, cafes, restaurants, and of course, delicious bakeries. However, my favourite attraction was the sandy shored swimming lake in their huge local park with walking and cycling paths.

Arcachon is a seaside resort town in southwest France, and is a short train ride from Bordeaux. It’s famous for oyster harvesting, beautiful beaches, giant natural sand dune, pine forests, extensive cycle paths, upscale resorts, and extravagant 19th-century villas. This stunning location is where the French spend their summers.

What to See and Do in and Around Chamonix – Other Than Skiing

Even if you don’t like skiing, there is still so much to see and do in and around the beautiful ski resort village of Chamonix in the French Alps. Take the train up the mountain to Montenvers and see the glacier and ice cave, take a cable car up to the highest point of Aiguille du Midi at 3842m and step into a glass void, visit neighbouring Italy and enjoy a relaxing day at an Italian spa, and discover your inner thrill seeker with a ride on the luge on rails.
